At least they were for a night, as 10 Things I Hate About You actors Julia Stiles, who played Kat, and Larisa Oleynik, who portrayed her younger sister Bianca, met up at a New York City screening of Wish You Were Here, which Stiles directed.

Even before they met up, Stiles told PEOPLE that she was looking forward to seeing the actress, who's actually the same age as her,

"I know that Larisa Oleynik is gonna be here tonight, which will be wonderful to see her," Stiles told PEOPLE when she arrived.

"We kind of, you know, the way that it's hard to keep in touch with people but over text messages."

The actress, who has gone on to star in movies such as Jason Bourne and Hustlers, said she keeps in touch with other cast members "a little bit, but from a distance." She explained that the role of Kat remains the one that she's most often recognized for, which she appreciates, because it was special one for her to step into.

"I was a year-old actress auditioning and getting a lot of annoying comments like, 'You're too serious' or 'you need to be sexier' or 'smile more,' and I was vulnerable to it because I was still trying to figure out who I was," Stiles told the magazine.

"And then I read 10 Things I Hate About You and Kat Stratford was like this feisty outspoken girl who did not care what people thought about her."

Being in it "meant a lot," she said.

"And that it resonates with people still is so great."

Oleynik, meanwhile, has appeared on shows such as Mad Men, Pretty Little Liars, and Hawaii Five-O.
